The U/U Ranch is home to Strawberry Ridge Reds, a Red Angus seedstock and commercial Red Angus x
Gelbvieh breeding operation that started in 1996.
Located 18 miles south of Livingston, MT in the heart of the Paradise Valley of south central
Montana, the U/U Ranch consists of irrigated hay meadows, irrigated pasture, rolling open
foothill pasture along with open timbered mountain pasture. The ranch runs 220 mother cows, 200
of which are purebred seedstock. Strawberry Ridge Red Angus and the U/U Ranch is owned
and operated by Steve and Shelley Newberry and managed by Jim and Cathy Frazier.
Cross F Red Angus is closely affiliated with Strawberry Ridge Red Angus and the U/U. Cross F
Red Angus is owned and managed by Jim and Cathy Frazier. The Cross F herd is run in an integrated
manner with Strawberry Ridge Red Angus. We use the same sires and clean up bulls, graze the same
pastures, share the same philosophy and we ratio the herds together.
We strive to raise Red Angus seedstock cattle with moderate birth weight high growth and
maternal, feed efficiency, calm dispositions, and good feet and legs.
Strawberry Ridge Red Angus is the fulfillment of a lifelong goal to be surrounded by the great
outdoors, people with the highest integrity and character, and our livestock. The opportunity
to be part of the Red Angus breed, with its history of bringing innovative marketing and
progressive science to the improvement of the breed and industry, is a privilege. We are
constantly striving to make a positive contribution to the Red Angus breed.
We sell cattle to Montana, Wyoming, North and South Dakota and Idaho. Strawberry Ridge Red
Angus holds an annual production sale the 2nd Thursday in March. For those unable to attend,
we offer a conference line and sight unseen buying.
In our attempt to enhance the Red Angus genetic base we have introduced select out cross genetics
to our herd. This outcross program commenced with the addition of Basin Salute, a registered
Category II Red Angus sire. We have found his offspring to be exactly what we were searching for:
moderate frame, above average growth, cattle that are easy fleshing, and he can be bred back to
almost every Red Angus line with complete confidence. We look forward to being your source for
outcross genetics.

Through the blending of technology and tradition, we are dedicated to bringing our customers the
highest quality Red Angus seedstock to enable their success.
Through continuous investment in balanced genetics, we are striving to bring easing calving, high
milking, high fertility, growthy, and phenotypically correct calves which convert feed efficiently
to our customers. We are participating in studies to find the right blend of carcass traits,
marbling, ribeye, and backfat that balance with fertility, maternals, and growth.
Our commitment to our customers is backed by our first-year guarantee of sound breeder bulls and
fertile females. We will continuously follow-up with customers and work with them to help market
their calves through a variety of Red Angus sponsored marketing programs.

Jim & Cathy Frazier were awarded the 2009 MTRAA President's Award for their continued
efforts in helping the MT Red Angus.
