Jim & Cathy Frazier

Jim & Cathy Frazier
Jim and Cathy hail from Colorado where Jim spent his life in the beef industry. Jim has managed
both commercial and purebred cattle operations in 4 different states, and has run feedlots in
conjunction with most, so Jim is aware of the special problems and needs of the commercial cowman.
Jim has served the Montana Red Angus Association as a board member, vice president and president
and a variety of committees. Cathy works at the hospital in Bozeman as the unit clerk for the
operating room and in her spare time manages the ranch computer operations.
Jim and Cathy have two children: Jamie has her Masters degree in Elemntary School Counseling and is
starting her 4th year in Buffalo WY. Matt is in his 2nd year teaching Ag at Pavillon WY. Both were
married on the ranch to wonderful spouses. All 4 are always here for the sale and other busy
times.
Jim is always happy to discuss cows and the ranch and believes a hand shake and giving your word
is still a important part of the cattle business.

U/U Ranch History
The U/U Ranch is home to Strawberry Ridge Reds, a Red Angus seedstock and a commercial Red Angus operation that started in 1996.
Located 18 miles south of Livingston, MT in the heart of the Paradise Valley of south central
Montana, the U/U Ranch consists of irrigated hay meadows, irrigated pasture, rolling open
foothill pasture along with open timbered mountain pasture. The ranch runs 220 mother cows, 200
of which are purebred Red Angus seedstock. Strawberry Ridge Reds and the U/U Ranch is owned
and operated by Steve and Shelley Newberry and managed by Jim and Cathy Frazier.
Cross F Red Angus is closely affiliated with Strawberry Ridge Reds and the U/U Ranch. Cross F
Red Angus is owned and managed by Jim and Cathy Frazier. The Cross F herd is run in an integrated
manner with Strawberry Ridge Reds. We use the same sires and clean up bulls, graze the same
pastures, share the same philosophy and we ratio the herds together.
We strive to raise Red Angus seedstock cattle with moderate birth weight high growth and
maternal, feed efficiency, calm dispositions, and good feet and legs.
Strawberry Ridge Reds is the fulfillment of a lifelong goal to be surrounded by the great
outdoors, people with the highest integrity and character, and our livestock. The opportunity
to be part of the Red Angus breed, with its history of bringing innovative marketing and
progressive science to the improvement of the breed and industry, is a privilege. We are
constantly striving to make a positive contribution to the Red Angus breed.
We sell cattle to Red Angus bredders and commercial cattle operations all over the country. Strawberry Ridge Reds
holds two production sales a year. An annual yearling Red Angus bull production sale the 2nd Saturday of
March and a Red Angus female production sale the next to last Saturday of October. For those unable to attend,
we offer a conference line and sight unseen buying.
